Q: What is Endermologie?

A: Aesthetic: A patented and FDA cleared and proven process which in addition to many health benefits, works to temporarily reduce visible cellulite and circumferential body measurements of cellulite treated areas.
Health:  In addition to the esthetic treatments, Endermologie successfully treats scar tissue which may occur with post breast augmentation, encapsulation or scar tissue from tummy tucks or "C" section.  Endermolgie additionally treats minor muscle aches, aiding in everything from workplace stress to sports therapy recovery, and lymphatic stimulation. Each treatment is personalized for the needs of each individual client.  Increased circulation from regular treatments can also increase sports perfomance. All FDA tested and approved.

Q.  What is cellulite?

A.   Cellulite is a term widely used for fat that is trapped in the superficial layers of skin.  With age and hormonal changes and because these fat cells do not have a good blood supply, the fat hardens. The fat cells become enlarged and often retain fluids, taking on a dimpled effect.

Q. How does the technology work for the reduction of cellulite?

A.  Endermologie is a mechanical skin rolling technique that utilizes the combination of two motorized rollers with gentle aspiration which targets connective tissue in the superficial layers of the skin where fat is trapped. The process is then carried out by increasing local blood circulation, softening up the connective tissue, mobilizing excess fluids, mobilizing the fat within the cells, making it more readily available for elimination.

Q.  Why is cellulite resistant to diet and exercise?

A.  Fat trapped in the connective tissue is immobile.  It has no adequate blood supply. Over time this fat hardens. Once mobilized, it is a target for easier elimination.

Q. How can I increase the effectiveness of the treatments?

A.  You must drink plenty of water to eliminate fat and toxins released by the process and maintain a healthy diet and exercise plan to speed results.

Q.  Who are the best candidates for Endermologie?

A.  Anyone looking to improve their overall health and the appearance of their skin.
Although those who lead a sedentary lifestyle will receive health benefits, they
will achieve very little esthetic results.

Q.  How many sessions will it take to smooth my skin?

A.  Because the non-invasive procedure taps in to what is natural in our bodies, there is no proven formula to indicate how many sessions each individual will take.  Most people take anywhere from 18 to 30 sessions to achieve skin smoothing. In my personal experience, I will generally begin seeing the smoothing results in anywhere from 6 to 8 treatments. I see the body contouring appear first, followed by tightening of the skin and then the reduction of visible cellulite. Other factors for positive results are genetic predisposition and the extent of your commitment to the intake of water and the diet and exercise plan.  Everyone will achieve results at different rates.

Q.  How often will I need to come?

A.  It is recommended that you come in at least two times a week for the first four weeks.  After this initial push, we will recommend individually, after evaluation, to either keep the status quo or suggest that you may reduce to once a week should you prefer.

Q.  Do I need to come back after my initial package?

A.  Yes.  The results are temporary and LPG recommends that you come back monthly for a maintenance appointment to maintain the result that you obtained.

Q.  Who should not use this technology?

A.   It is always recommended that you check with your primary care physician prior
to using any new treatment or procedure though the following should definitely
      not use the Endermologie treatments:

      * Anyone with auto-immune disorders.
      * Anyone with a progressive disease such as cardiovascular or active cancer.
      * Anyone with blood clots, phlebitus or progressive circulatory problems.

Q.  Was the machine developed for the improvement of cellulite?

A.  The LPG One Keymodule was developed in France in 1986 by Louis Paul Guitay.  Mr Guitay was receiving physical therapy for third degree burns after an auto accident. He found the manual skin rolling technique to be inconsistent as well as tedious for the therapist. Thus, the keymodule was designed to standardize and simplify the technique.

The LPG machine was first used for physical therapy in hospitals to treat burn tissue, muscle pain, fibrosis and scar tissue.

While using the technology, recipients found that it was also improving and tightening the skin, smoothing visible cellulite and reducing circumferential measurements.  Now LPG machines are found in over 95 countries and are used and approved for both therapeutic and esthetic applications.

Q.  I plan to have liposuction.  How does Endermologie differ from liposuction?

A.  These two modalities actually work extremely well together.  Liposuction addresses the deep layers of fat which lay under the muscle.  However, the process can not remove the fat that is trapped just under the superficial layer of skin. This is the dimpling effect widely known as cellulite.

Endermologie is actually indicated as a post liposuction modality.  The Endermologie process aids in post liposuction body contouring, skin smoothing and tightening of the skin where liposuction has been done.

Q.  I am doing Maintenance and I am still seeing improvement.  Is it OK to do more than the recommended maintenance?

A.   If you are continuing to see improvement during your "Maintenance" sessions, you may do the treatments as often as you like.

Q.   Why is there a price difference between the package sessions and the maintenance?

A.    Package sessions are anywhere from 45 to 50 minutes and include counseling on diet, nutrition, water intake, re-measures and evaluations to insure your treatments are personalized.  A maintenance treatment is 35 minutes and his a full body "tune up" to keep the bodies systems working at maximum efficiency. Maintenance sessions are shorter.
